One of the most remarkable hotels in the world, Emirates Palace, was a breathtaking site. The hotel is breathtaking. It is the second most expensive hotel ever built. It has 114 domes, nearly a mile of private beach, and 1002 Swarovski chandeliers! The amount of marble (imported from 13 countries) and gold (in the dome) throughout the building is spectacular. There are plenty of hotel employees that are on top of you, if you are not a guest. As soon as you arrive, they will ask of your business with the hotel. We had stated that we were looking at restaruants. We were given a list and directions to the restaraunts. Yes, directions, that is how enormous this hotel is. They even had ancient reclics on display in the Barakat Gallery. You may even purchase them or artwork (approx. 89,000.00). There are also two wall display carpets, handmade in Thailand. They are enormous!
Beyond the main lobby, there are signs posted that state: photographs are prohibited. I even made a wrong turn and an employee asked me where I was going. He stated that I was not allowed in that area. This even as secure as the VIP rooms and floor, which is a security floor. It is a great way to spend a day for free.
